Descrizione:2-Hydroxy-4-methoxy-4'-methylbenzophenone is a skin cancer agent that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human tumor cells in vivo and in vitro. 2-Hydroxy-4-methoxy-4'-methylbenzophenone is an analog of 4'-Methylbenzophenone (MBP), which is found in some sunscreens. The structure of 2-hydroxy-4-methoxy -4'-methylbenzophenone is similar to MBP, but it lacks the chlorine atom on the para position. This compound has been shown to cause allergic reactions in mice. It has been demonstrated that 2-hydroxy-4 -methoxy -4 'methylbenzophenone absorbs ultraviolet radiation, especially wavelengths below 300 nm. This compound also reacts with other substances, such as chlorine atoms or active substances to form new compounds with different properties.
