Descrizione:1-Methylcyclopentanecarboxylic acid is a cyclopentanoid that is used as a solvent in organic chemistry. It can be synthesized by the formylation of phthalic anhydride with formaldehyde and subsequent hydrogenation. 1-Methylcyclopentanecarboxylic acid can be obtained from the reaction of orthophosphoric acid with nitrogen atoms and hydrocarbon group, or from hydrochloric acid and protease activity. 1-Methylcyclopentanecarboxylic acid has been found to have a high degree of refluxing, which can be useful for certain reactions.
