Descrizione:2-Methyl-1-tetralone is a pharmaceutical drug that is used as an intermediate. It is synthesized by the enolate reaction mechanism. 2-Methyl-1-tetralone reacts with a proton, in a nucleophilic attack, to form an enantiomerically pure ketone. This reaction can be catalyzed by quaternary ammonium salts and organocatalysts, such as tetrabutylammonium bromide and lithium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide. The low detection limit of this compound makes it useful for chemical analysis of metal surfaces.
