Descrizione:3-(Pyridin-3-yl)aniline is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme choline kinase in T. brucei and T. cruzi. 3-(Pyridin-3-yl)aniline has been shown to have trypanocidal activity against both species and is also active against T. cruzi strains resistant to other drugs, such as suramin. 3-(Pyridin-3-yl)aniline also inhibits the growth of parasites that are genetically resistant to this drug, demonstrating its activity as a drug target validation agent for trypanosomiasis. It has been shown to be effective in vitro and in vivo.
