Descrizione:Pyrazosulfuron is a herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants by inhibiting protein synthesis. It is most effective on plants with high dry weight and low protein content. Pyrazosulfuron binds to the pyrazole ring, which is an essential component of the plant enzyme acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS). This binding prevents the formation of acetohydroxyacid, which is an intermediate in the synthesis of fatty acids and proteins. AHAS acts as a catalyst in converting acetyl-CoA from glycolysis into malonyl-CoA, which is then converted into fatty acids. The inhibition of AHAS leads to a decrease in protein synthesis, leading to plant death.
