Descrizione:Sodium hexachloroplatinate(IV) hexahydrate is a chemical compound that contains the elements, sodium and chlorine. It is an ionic solid with a hydrophilic nature and an insoluble form in water. It is also acidic, but only weakly so. Sodium hexachloroplatinate(IV) hexahydrate has been used to produce nanowires of platinum, which are one-atom-thick wires that can be used in electronic devices such as batteries or solar cells. The production of these wires has been shown to be chronologically dependent on the concentration of the solution and the temperature. The formation of these nanowires requires an electrode and will occur at a hydrophobic surface. This material is soluble in acidic solutions in which it will dissolve into ions.
