Descrizione:5,6,7-trimethoxy-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid is a synthetic antibiotic that has been shown to have activity against murine sarcoma. It is produced by a synthetic scheme and the compound is an amide of primary alcohols. 5,6,7-trimethoxy-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to have anti cancer properties in vitro and in vivo. The compound also inhibits the growth of estrogen receptor positive breast cancer cells. This antibiotic may be used as a chemotherapeutic agent for lymphocytic leukemia or other cancers. 5,6,7-trimethoxy-1H-indole-2-carboxylic acid binds to the active site of chalcone synthase and inhibits its activity by inducing conformational changes in the enzyme.
