The thermal expansion coefficient of trimethoxy(propyl)silane has been measured with an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy technique and found to have high values, indicating its stability. The presence of hydroxyl groups on this compound is confirmed by plasma mass spectrometry. Trimethoxy(propyl)silane is also a model system for zirconium oxide materials.
