Descrizione:1-(4-(2-Hydroxyethoxy)phenyl)ethanone is an escherichia coli inhibitor. It has been shown to be a potent antimicrobial agent against salmonella typhimurium, with a MIC of 0.5 μg/mL, and also exhibits activity against escherichia coli (MIC, 1 μg/mL). The chalcone derivative was found to be more effective than the parent compound in inhibiting the growth of these bacteria. This compound was synthesized by cyclisation of an ester followed by condensation with hydrazine.
