Descrizione:1-(Isocyanatomethyl)naphthalene is a compound that has anti-inflammatory properties. It is used in the treatment of chronic asthma, as well as other inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. 1-(Isocyanatomethyl)naphthalene inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which play a role in inflammation and pain. This drug is also used to treat bronchitis, sinusitis and cystitis. 1-(Isocyanatomethyl)naphthalene binds to formyl groups on proteins and inhibits the formation of prostaglandins by preventing the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin H2 (PGH2). 1-(Isocyanatomethyl)naphthalene also inhibits the production of alkali metal ions by inhibiting phospholipase A2 (PLA2), which converts arachidonic acid into PGH2.
