Descrizione:1,3-Dimethylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (DIMEF) is an ionic compound. It is a molecular ion in the gas phase and has been observed as a stable molecule in solution. DIMEF has been used as a model system for studying hydrogen bonding interactions, phenolic acids, and oxidation catalysts. DIMEF has also been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide into oxygen and water. DIMEF is also used as an analytical method for determining the concentration of organic molecules. The frequency shift can be measured with spectroscopy and it provides information about the chemical stability of the molecule. DIMEF is soluble in water and its transport properties are due to its solubility in water. X-ray crystal structures have revealed that this molecule contains intramolecular hydrogen bonds and hydroxyl groups.
