Description:Moxonidine is an imidazoline/α-2 receptor agonist that is used to treat hypertension. This drug binds to the imidazoline receptor and to alpha-2 adrenoreceptors to reduce arterial blood pressure and systemic vascular resistance. Moxonidine also has effects on other physiological systems such as locomotor activity and autonomic nervous system functions.
