Description:N-Boc-3-pyrroline is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to have broad spectrum activity against a number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits bacterial growth by interfering with the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids, which are essential for cell division. N-Boc-3-pyrroline has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium perfringens, although is not active against acid-fast bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex. The chemical structure of N-Boc-3-pyrroline is enecarbamate, which is comprised of two asymmetrical carbon atoms. The synthesis of this compound involves an unsymmetrical synthetic process in which the enecarbamate moiety is created by reacting phosphite with chloride. This reaction produces an intermediate called eth
