It has been shown to be a biocompatible polymer that can be used for surface methodology. This polymer is synthesized by reacting monosodium salt of butanediol with hydroquinone and sodium carbonate in aqueous solution. 1,4-Butanediol biscrylate - Hydroquinone as inhibitor has been tested using cervical cancer cells and it was found to have a cytotoxic effect on these cells.
