Description:Boc-L-isoleucine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester is an inhibitor of the bacterial biosynthetic pathway. It blocks the synthesis of the amino acid L-isoleucine by binding to the enzyme IleS synthetase, which catalyzes the conversion of L-threonine to L-isoleucine in bacteria. The compound is a benzodiazepine receptor ligand that has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro and in vivo. Boc-L-isoleucine N-hydroxysuccinimide ester binds to the outer membrane of Gram negative bacteria and causes leakage from the cytoplasmic membrane, leading to cell death. This compound also inhibits methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) from binding to human cells.br>br>
