Cyclopentyl methyl ether is toxic, with a LD50 of greater than 5 g/kg when administered orally to rats. The solvents may cause irritation and damage to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. The solvent may react with acids or bases to form salts. These salts are usually insoluble in water, which limits their toxicity.
