Ref. 3D-FC19986

Product Information
Name:5-Chloro-1-methylimidazole
Synonyms:
- 5-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-imidazole1-Methyl-5-chloroimidazole
Brand:Biosynth
Description:5-Chloro-1-methylimidazole is a heterogeneous catalyst that reacts with carbonyl groups to form an intermediate imine. This intermediate then reacts with a chloride ion to form an aziridine. The activated imidazole ring then undergoes allylic oxidation, which results in the formation of the desired product. The reaction mechanism for this catalytic process has been well established and includes the following steps: (i) activation of 5-chloro-1-methylimidazole by a metal ion, (ii) binding of the substrate to the active site of 5-chloro-1-methylimidazole, (iii) formation of an imine intermediate from the substrate and 5-chloro-1-methylimidazole, (iv) attack on the imine by chloride ion to produce an aziridine, (v) oxidation of the activated imidazole ring to produce the desired
