Description:(R)-2,3-Cyclohexylideneglyceraldehyde is an enantiopure compound with a chiral center at the carbon atom adjacent to the double bond and is also known as cyclohexane-1,2-dione. It has been used to synthesize acrylates and aldehydes in order to produce polymers that are resistant to ultraviolet radiation. It can also be used as a precursor for nitroaldol reactions, which are used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals. The stereoselective nature of this product makes it useful in the study of Alzheimer's disease and mosquito oviposition behavior.
