Description:(2E)-3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)acryloyl chloride is an intermediate in the synthesis of triester annuloline. It is a reactive compound that can be used to synthesize nicotinoyl quinic acid. The coupling reaction of this product with triphenylphosphine and quinic acid yields 3-chloro-2-hydroxyquinuclidine. This product also undergoes lactonization with chloroacetaldehyde to form 2,4-dichloro-1,5-pentanediol. (2E)-3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)acryloyl chloride can be transformed into azide by treatment with sodium azide.
