The elimination of this radical ion produces carbon dioxide and water. This compound can also undergo fragmentation reactions by reacting with electron donors such as methanol or ammonia. 3,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbaldehyde has molecular ion peaks at m/z 121 (C6H8N2) and m/z 123 (C6H7NO).
