It can be prepared by treatment of dicyclohexyl borane with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. The conjugates of this compound have been shown to bind to hsp90 and inhibit chaperone activity, which may be due to its ability to bind on the ATP binding site of hsp90. This drug has also been shown to antagonize glucocorticoid receptors and reduce inflammatory diseases in animal models. Dicyclohexyl(trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy)borane has a low solubility in water, but dissociates in water into a zwitterion that is soluble.
