    Description:4-Fluorobenzaldehyde is used in the industrial preparation of N-[(4-fluorophenyl)methyl]-1-methyl-4-piperidinamine. It is a chlorinating agent that can be used to produce chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, and other chlorinated hydrocarbons. 4-Fluorobenzaldehyde can also be used for the carbonylation of alcohols to aldehydes or ketones. It has been shown to have high activity for reductive acylation reactions with electron-deficient carboxylic acids, such as acetic acid and propionic acid. This reagent can also be used in organic solvent reactions with high yields when catalyzed by triphosgene.
