Description:Hexahydro-2(S)-methyl-4-(t-butoxycarboxyl)-1,4-diazepine is a chiral compound that is used as an inhibitor of protein kinase. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of the enzyme by binding to the active site and blocking its entrance. Hexahydro-2(S)-methyl-4-(t-butoxycarboxyl)-1,4-diazepine can be synthesized by cyclizing diaminoacetonitrile with ethyl acetoacetate in the presence of a base. The structural isomer can be obtained by reacting 2,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde with 2-(chloromethyl)pyridine in the presence of a base.
