Product Information
Name:4'-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)acetophenone
Brand:Biosynth
Description:4'-(1H-Imidazol-1-yl)acetophenone (4'-IAAP) is a coordination compound that binds to the active site of mycobacterial enzymes, including NADH dehydrogenase and malate synthase. 4'-IAAP also has antimycobacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. 4'-IAAP has been shown to have diabetogenic properties in genetically diabetic mice. The pancreas is the primary organ that produces insulin, which is responsible for regulating blood sugar levels. Pancreatic cells are able to produce insulin by binding with glucose through hydrogen bonding interactions. 4'-IAAP competes with glucose for these binding sites, thereby inhibiting insulin production and leading to increased blood pressure.
