The specific antibody binds to the protein in order to detect the presence of lithium perchlorate trihydrate. Lithium perchlorate trihydrate also has transport properties and can dissolve in n-dimethyl formamide, while being insoluble in hydrochloric acid or zirconium oxide. Lithium perchlorate trihydrate can be synthesized by adding hydrochloric acid to a solution containing tryptophan and n-dimethyl formamide.
