Product Information
Name:8-Methyl-2,3,3a,4,5,6-hexahydro-1H-pyrazino[3,2,1-jk]carbazole hydrochloride
Brand:Biosynth
Description:8-Methyl-2,3,3a,4,5,6-hexahydro-1H-pyrazino[3,2,1-jk]carbazole hydrochloride (MCPZ) is a voltage-dependent calcium channel blocker. It inhibits the voltage dependent calcium channels in the intestine. This prevents the release of neurotransmitters and blocks the transmission of stimuli to the central nervous system. MCPZ has been shown to have locomotor activity in vitro assays and has been shown to increase energy metabolism in cells. MCPZ is toxic to granule neurons that are involved in regulating secretion of cortisol from the adrenal gland. MCPZ also blocks pirlindole binding and inhibits its inhibitory properties on experimental models.
MCPZ is a reactive compound that can be prepared by hplc with preparative scale resolution for further use.
