It has been shown to inhibit the growth of murine leukemia cells in vivo and in vitro. The molecular structure of 1-methyl-4-(methylamino)piperidine contains two nitrogens and two chlorines, which are linked by a monoadduct. The magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) studies show that it can inhibit the production of urea nitrogen in mice. This drug is being developed for use as a PDE5 inhibitor for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
