Description:3-[(Phenylsulfonyl)amino]benzoic acid (PSBA) is a potent inhibitor of the class IIa histone deacetylases (HDACs), which are enzymes that regulate gene expression. It has been shown to inhibit HDAC activity in vitro, leading to increased histone acetylation and increased transcription of target genes. PSBA has also been shown to have other biological activities, such as inhibiting the activity of oxidases and histone methylation.
