Description:2-Pyridinyl trifluoroacetate (2PTFA) is a phosphite derivative that can be used in synthetic chemistry. It is synthesized by the reaction of naphthalene and 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde, followed by hydrolysis with base. 2PTFA has a trifluoromethyl group and two pyridinium functional groups that are useful for various reactions.
