The solubility of solvent violet 13 can be altered by changing the pH value of the solution. Solvent violet 13 exhibits an acidic character with a pKa of about 3.5 to 4.5 and a phase transition temperature above 100°C. It can be cationically polymerized with anionic or neutral polymers to form polymeric matrices for film-forming applications. Radiation can crosslink the polymer chains to form polymeric matrices for radiation curing applications.
