Description:Tetrahydro curcumin is a synthetic analog of curcumin with a pyrazole ring. Tetrahydro curcumin has been shown to inhibit the activity of various enzymes, such as cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, which have been implicated in cancer development. This compound also inhibits the activity of drug transporters, thus reducing the concentration of drugs that are transported out of cells and into bloodstream.
Tetrahydro curcumin has been shown to inhibit the growth factor-β1 (GF-β1) pathway, which is involved in neuronal death and tumorigenesis. Tetrahydro curcumin also induces apoptosis in cancer cells by activating caspases and inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, IL-8, and TNFα.
