Description:4-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1H-indazole is a phosphoinositide inhibitor that induces apoptosis in cancer cells. It targets the enzyme phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) and the downstream target of PI3K: phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P). The PI3P is a precursor for other lipids such as phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) and phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PIP). These lipids are involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. This compound has a significant inhibitory effect on cancer cell lines and inhibits cancer growth in an animal model.
