Description:Ketorolac tromethamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of pain and inflammation, but is often associated with gastrointestinal ulceration. Ketorolac tromethamine is a crystalline form of ketorolac that is made by the pharmaceutical company Roche. Crystals are obtained by spray-drying the solution obtained from dissolving ketorolac in aqueous solutions of cellulose and fluorescein angiography. The crystals are stable over long periods of time, but may not dissolve completely when taken orally. Ketorolac tromethamine has been found to be biocompatible when used as an implant for the treatment of chronic pain.
