Product Information
Name:UDP-D-glucose disodium salt - Approx 30% content by UV
Brand:Biosynth
Description:UDP-D-glucose disodium salt is a nucleotide sugar that participates in the biosynthesis of galactose. It is synthesized by the enzyme UDP-galactose 4-epimerase and was found to be present in plant cells. The synthesis of UDP-D-glucose disodium salt requires ATP, magnesium, and sodium ions. It has been shown to be synthesized in vitro by incubating the appropriate substrate with calf thymus DNA. Analyses of its structure show that it consists of an uridine base linked through its phosphate group to a D-glucose molecule. In mammalian cells, UDP-D-glucose disodium salt is present in the endoplasmic reticulum where it binds to chloride ions with high affinity. It has also been found in the reticular membrane and hirsutum grain cell walls, where it binds with grandis protein.
