Description:N4-Benzoyl-2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT-3'-O-(methanesulfonyl)cytidine is a novel nucleoside with anticancer and antiviral activities. It is synthesized by reacting 4-benzoyl cytidine with 2'-deoxy-5'-O-DMT, followed by the treatment with methanesulfonyl chloride. This compound can be used as an activator of DNA polymerase. It has also been shown to be effective against HIV in vitro.
