Description:2'-Deoxy-N2-DMF-5'-O-MMT-guanosine, also known as 2'-deoxy-N2,5'-O-(dimethoxytrityl)-guanosine, is a high quality, novel nucleoside analog that has been shown to be an effective antiviral. It was synthesized in 1972 by the group of E.J. Corey and is structurally similar to other nucleosides such as ribonucleosides or deoxyribonucleosides. It is a monophosphate that can be converted into a diphosphate by adding phosphorus ions and ATP. 2'-Deoxy-N2,5'-O-(dimethoxytrityl)-guanosine is not found in nature but can be used as an antiviral agent because it inhibits the replication of RNA viruses such as HIV and influenza A virus.
