It exhibits antiviral activity and is a potent activator of RNA polymerase II, with a Km of ∼0.05 μM. 5'-O-DMT-2'-O-triisopropylsilyloxymethyl-N2-methylguanosine 3'-CE phosphoramidite is used in the synthesis of ribonucleosides and deoxyribonucleosides for DNA and RNA experiments. The compound has also been shown to be active against some cancers, such as leukemia, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.
