Iron(III)perchloratehydrate
CAS:
Ref. 3D-QAA20161

Product Information
Name:Iron(III)perchloratehydrate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Iron(III)perchloratehydrate is a molecule that participates in redox reactions. It can be reduced by borohydride to form the ferrous ion, which then reacts with a second molecule of perchlorate to form Iron(II)perchlorate. This process is known as a redox cycle. Iron(II)perchlorate can also be oxidized back to Iron(III)perchlorate using trifluoromethanesulfonic acid or any other oxidizing agent, such as hydrogen peroxide. The reaction mechanism of this molecule is not yet fully understood, but it is believed that it may involve a transfer mechanism with water molecules.
Iron(III)perchloratehydrate has been shown to have photocatalytic activity when exposed to UV light and wastewater treatment in order to remove contaminants from the water.
