Ácido metanossulfônico (MSA), com o número CAS 75-75-2, é um líquido incoloro e inodoro que é altamente solúvel em água e em solventes orgânicos polares. É um ácido forte, caracterizado pela sua capacidade de doar prótons (íons H⁺) prontamente, tornando-se um reagente útil em várias reações químicas.
