1-(1,3-Benzodioxol-5-ylmethyl)piperidin-4-amine dihydrochloride (1,3BDMC) is a selective soluble guanylate cyclase inhibitor. It inhibits the production of nitric oxide and guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate in vascular smooth muscle cells. This drug is used as an anesthetic agent and has been shown to have beneficial effects in animal models of hypoxemia. 1,3BDMC has also been evaluated for use in treating embolic disorders such as thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
