Descrição:1-Hexadecanethiol is used in the study of nanoparticles and self-assembled monolayers. It is also used to prepare thiol-functionalized 1.5 nm gold nanoparticles via a ligand exchange process with triphenylphosphine-stabilized nanoparticles and in the formation of hydrophobic self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). Due to the length of the alkane chain, the resulting monolayer is highly ordered. 1-Hexadecanethiol is also employed in different fields such as biomedicine, chemical industry, also used in electroplating industry and chemical auxiliaries. This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand.
