Descrição:Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that blocks nerve conduction by binding to voltage-gated sodium channels in the axon. It is available in a variety of formulations, including lidocaine-d10 solution. This formulation contains 10% lidocaine and 5% dextrose as a vehicle for intravenous injection. Lidocaine-d10 solution has been shown to have antinociceptive effects in humans and animals when used for abdominal surgery. The matrix effect of this formulation may be due to the presence of dextrose, which can inhibit the release of cortisol from adrenal glands.
