Descrição:tert-Butyl 4-(4-formylphenyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate (BPPC) is a neuroprotective agent that has been shown to scavenge hydrogen peroxide and protect against oxidative damage. BPPC was found to be neuroprotective in vivo, as it reduced the number of dopaminergic cells that were damaged by methamphetamine. BPPC also provides protection against neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease. BPPC analogues have been synthesized and show similar neuroprotective properties.
