It is used to prevent and control fungal infections in plants, such as powdery mildew and leaf spot. At low concentrations, it acts as a plant growth regulator, increasing the number of flowers or fruit produced. 1-Butynyl Iodide (stabilized with Copper chip) also has anti-inflammatory properties. This fungicide binds to reactive oxygen species, preventing them from attacking healthy cells in the body. Furthermore, it can be used for the treatment of depression and Alzheimer's disease.
