Descrição:3-Ethoxy-2-cyclohexane-1-one is an organic compound that is used as a synthetic intermediate. 3-Ethoxy-2-cyclohexane-1-one can be synthesized by an E2 elimination reaction of the corresponding allyl alcohol, which is accomplished with a strong base such as lithium diisopropylamide. This reaction is followed by dehydration to yield the desired product. The synthesis of 3-ethoxy-2-cyclohexane-1-one has been shown to be efficient and reliable in a variety of model studies. A biomimetic strategy for this synthesis involves the use of an enolate and a synthetic scheme that includes acidic hydrolysis and alkylation strategies.
