Descrição:3-Hexyn-1-oL is a ruthenium complex that is used as a catalyst to promote the reaction of hydrogenation. It is a homogeneous catalyst, which means it can be dissolved in a hydrocarbon solvent and still maintain its catalytic activity. 3-Hexyn-1-oL has been shown to be stereoselective for the hydrogenation of alkenes, producing only one geometric isomer of the product. The use of 3-hexyn-1-oL as a catalyst was demonstrated using x-ray absorption spectroscopy. This compound has also been shown to be chemically stable under both acidic and basic conditions, making it useful in many reactions.
