Descrição:Lithium phosphate is a compound used in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to be effective for the removal of organic compounds and heavy metals from water. In particular, lithium phosphate has been shown to be highly selective for the adsorption of fatty acids and can be used as an alternative to activated carbon. Lithium phosphate also has high thermal stability and is resistant to hydrochloric acid and hydrogen bonding, which make it ideal for use in acidic environments. Lithium phosphate is not soluble in water, but is soluble in strong bases such as sodium carbonate. This property makes it suitable for the preparation of samples before analysis by UV absorption spectroscopy or X-ray diffraction.
