Descrição:The reaction is catalyzed by potassium nitrate and ammonium formate, which are both soluble in water. The reaction vessel is cooled with ice to lower the temperature of the reaction system. The catalyst can be prepared by mixing a sulfoxide with an organic solvent such as methanol or ethanol. The reaction time for this process is about one hour at room temperature.
