Descrição:Rotigotine is a drug that belongs to the group of dopamine-receptor agonists. It has been used in Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, such as restless legs syndrome. Rotigotine binds to the dopamine receptor in the brain, which causes an increase in dopaminergic activity in the central nervous system. This leads to an improvement in motor function and relieves symptoms such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, and hallucinations. Rotigotine also has potential clinical relevance for cancer, hepatitis and glycerin metabolism. It has been shown that rotigotine can reduce tumor growth by stimulating the production of neurotrophic factors. This drug can be delivered transdermally or orally (in combination with glycerin) to exert its effects on the central nervous system.
