Descrição:Polyquaternium 1 is a polymer that is used in the formulation of topical antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to have a toxicity profile that is similar to other polymers. Polyquaternium 1 is synthesized by free radical polymerization methods such as atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), which can produce linear chains with uniform acyl chain lengths. This polymer can also be made using ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) or nitroxide mediated coupling reactions, which can produce non-uniform chains
